Bringing over 20 years of professional experience in theatre, television and film to the table, Danielle Meierhenry is a powerful, unique and versatile talent with compelling vocal abilities and quick-witted performances that truly excite audiences. Danielle has permanently planted her roots deep into the frozen tundra of Toronto, after deciding that the year-round tropical paradise of her hometown Orlando, Florida just wasnât moose-infested enough for her taste.
Canadians may know her best for originating the role of âCherylâ in Evil Dead 1&2:The Musical in the three Toronto runs in â03-â04, and the celebrated production at the â04 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Her defining portrayal earned her universally stellar reviews in Variety, Toronto Star, Eye Weekly, Fangoria, Aint It Cool News, innumerable webzines, and also saw her grace the cover of the Montreal Mirror (in full demon regalia, no less).
Other theatrical performances have included her controversial, yet highly lauded portrayal of âJudasâ in Jesus Christ Superstar, her superbly absurd performances in the Ionesco pieces The Bald Soprano, Jack or The Submission, and Rhinoceros, and her classically comic âHelenaâ in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Danielle also got to flex her stage-combat skills as âCleopatraâ in the wildly popular Shakespeare Sports: Gladiator Games at the 2003 Fringe Festival.
Blending her love of comedy with her dynamic vocal and character work, Danielle has been a regular cast member for the sketch-cabaret company Queenâs Players Toronto since 2004. These inimitable and interactive musical pop-culture mash-ups have developed a true cult following, boasting consistently sold out runs, the proceeds of which are donated to The Steven Lewis Foundation.
Stateside, Danielle has appeared in numerous sitcoms and commercials for Nickelodeon Studios, several projects for Walt Disney, an ABC pilot, and Imagine Entertainment. She also just happens to hold the very first ever title of The Fastest-Talking Kid in America, awarded to her after a nationwide search by the USA Network and MicroMachines in 1988. Despite her multi-decade absence from the quick-speak arena, Danielle is anxiously training to overtake the Canadian title-holderâŚif there is one.
