Jane Miller is an incredibly talented singer and actress. With a wealth of experience in the theatre, she has earned two Dora Mavor Moore Award nominations for Outstanding Performance in a Musical in 1999 for Shaking the Foundations at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, and in 2008 as Lucy Van Pelt in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown at LKTYP. In the summer of 2005, she played Speed in Two Gentlemen of Verona for Shakespeare in the Rough. In April 2003, she originated the role of infamous 1920's faith healer and preacher Aimee Semple MacPherson in the world premiere of Almost There at Brookstone Theatre. In January 2001, Jane wrote and produced Disco Goalie, an hour long solo show performed in full goalie equipment, in co-production with Artword Theatre and her own company, splode. She then remounted the show at Aquarius Theatre in Hamilton, and took it on a six-city Western Canada tour, which earned criticial and financial success. As a singer and composer, she has released two albums with Wind May Do Damage and has opened for Arlo Guthrie, Ani DeFranco, Jeff Buckley, and Moxy Fruvous. She composed the a cappella score for the stage adaptation of Michael Redhill's book of poetry Lake Nora Arms, commissioned by the theatre company, Nightswimming, which was mounted at the SummerWorks Theatre Festival in the summer of 2009, garnering Jane rave reviews for her performance and songwriting. Some of Jane's television appearances include: ABC's It's Always Something: The Gilda Radner Story, and The Associates on CTV, the featured artist on CBC’s On the Arts for Hockey Day in Canada, and numerous music performances.
