In the last five years Laurie Elliott has made a name in Canada for both her film and television work as well as her stand up comedy. She is a winner of the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award and received the 2004 and 2006 Canadian Comedy Award for best female stand up.
Laurie's television credits include a Comedy Award nominated recurring role on Toronto 1’s The Toronto Show and recurring roles on CBC’s The New Red Green Show and Global’s Train 48. She has also appeared in episodes of CBC’s This is Wonderland and The Sean Cullen Show, Showtime’s Soul Food, CTV/Comedy Network’s Endless Grind and her own stand-up comedy special Comedy Now!.
Laurie is a recurring panelist on Global’s Out of Bounds with John Oakley and Men TV’s Real Men. Her two woman show Dickwhipped, which she co-wrote, was Patron’s Pick for it’s venue at the 2004 Toronto Fringe Festival, was featured at the Vancouver Comedy Festival, and the 2005 Canadian Comedy Award for Funniest Play.
Laurie has extensive voice experience, having worked on a number of animated series including Bob and Margaret, Medabots, Braceface, Timothy Goes to School, Moville Mysteries, Atomic Betty, Jacob Two Two, Meteor, Time Warp Trio and more. She is also a member of the Canadian Comedy Award nominated sketch troupe KEVLOR 2000.
Most recently Laurie wrote for and performed on The Comedy Network’s series Popcultured with Elvira Kurt, and also married Red Green’s nephew Harold on the final episode of The Red Green Show.
