BIO

With the face of an angel and a tongue as sharp as a Mach17 razor, Rebecca Kohler is full of surprises and brings an edgy insight to the stage. The quick-witted daughter of a Canadian diplomat, Kohler was born in Brazil and has made her home all over the world. She moved to Montreal, where she launched her comedy career. She is now based in Toronto where she has quickly become one of the defining voices of the local scene.

Most recently Kohler was the winner of a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Taped LIVE Performance (2013) and the winner of NOW Magazine's Best of Toronto Award for Best Female Stand-up (2013). She wrote for the Sarah Silverman, Kathy Griffin and Whitney Cummings Just For Laughs Galas this summer as well as performing on the Kirsten Schaal's Best of the Fest. She played the lead in the critically received independent feature No Heart Feelings. Kohler is a writer on the new series Spun Out (CTV) starring Luke Macfarlane, Leah Renee, Ryan Belleville and Mark Critch, and on the writing staff of Responsible Adult, a comedy series in development for CBC Television.

Kohler has performed at a number of festivals including Just For Laughs (Montreal), Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Ha!ifax ComedyFest, LOL Sudbury Comedy Festival, Newfoundland Screech Comedy Festival and Los Angeles Comedy Festival as well as Yuk Yuk's Comedy Clubs across Canada.

Kohler has made appearances on The Debaters (CBC Radio/TV), The L.A. Complex (CTV/Much Music), Hotbox (The Comedy Network), The Jon Dore Television Show (The Comedy Network), Video On Trial (Much Music) and Laugh Attack (SiriusXM Canada).
